Participation is open to anybody and there are no registration fees. However, to help better planning the event, the organizers would appreciate to be notified in advance if you intend to participate.
To preregister, please send an email to email@example.com by August 31, 2010 specifying your
- affiliation (university/company)
- gender (male/female)
- status (faculty/grad/undergrad/postdoc/other) and
- email contact.
Travel GrantsTravel grants up to US $500 each are available to participants from Midwestern universities to partially offset transportation and accommodation costs. Preference will be given to students, both graduate and undergraduate, over faculty and other researchers, and to attendees with an expressed financial need over those without.
Interested participants should add a grant request in their preregistration message explaining the need for the grant. For students and postdoc applicants, a faculty member at the person's institution should also send separately to firstname.lastname@example.org by August 31, 2010 a brief supporting email, mentioning the applicant's role in the faculty member's group, and addressing the need for the grant.
Grant applicants will be notified by email by September 7.
Funds will be provided after the workshop, upon submission of receipts and a short report summarizing how the awardee's benefited from the grant, what they learned from attending the workshop, and any impact their participation had on their professional development (these reports will be used to compile a final report to our sponsors).
